![]() While they never said it, the other major reason they did it was likely cost savings. They did provide a simpler, black and white, one-page version of the Fun Times on request, but they hoped people would use their Carnival Hub app to see the daily schedule instead. Then, after the social distancing and masking fell away, not providing the Fun Times was seen as a way to be more “sustainable.” Printing thousands of multi-page flyers and handing them out to guests each night is a lot of wasted paper. During the restart, all paper communications went away in favor of QR codes At that point, all paper communications and tools were discontinued, and instead, they opted for touch-free electronic versions using QR codes. A Fun Times from the Carnival Horizon in 2020 Why did Carnival discontinue the Fun Times?Īt first, Carnival discontinued the Fun Times in an effort to provide a more sanitary experience for guests during the restart process. It was THE way to know what was happening on the ship and when. It provided a comprehensive list of activities for the next day, important reminders about ports of call like onboard time, and the hours of many venues. Guests used to receive the Fun Times outside their cabin in their mailbox each night. The Fun Times is Carnival’s daily schedule of events. Thankfully, Carnival has heard the demand from its guests and will bring back the printed daily fun times in the coming weeks. Others have been more annoying, like the lack of printed menus and daily schedules. Some have been good, like the electronic muster that saves guests so much time. I am envious of you.Since the cruise industry restart after the pandemic shutdown, we’ve seen a lot of changes to the cruise experience. I was so full the night we went tI took most of my dinner and dessert to go. Also you can request your dessert to go in the MDR and also at Italian restaurant. Could look right over to our balcony, but better than deck 6 above the lanani deck. We enjoyed it but there was no privacy if people were out on that deck. We had Jr suite cabin 9205 which was the first cabin on the deck above the bridge. This is on the 9th floor all the way forward on the left side once out there you can take stairs up to tenth and eleventh. AMAZING views from there, and the front of the ship as well. There is a viewing area right on top of the bridge. ![]() You will see an umarked door, that leads you outside. If you come in from the pool area, take an immediate left into the passenger cabin hallway, and go ALL the way to the end. Steakhouse was probably the best STEAK I've had, but everything else, ehhhhhh.not so much.Īlso, as far as "secret" doors.Lido Deck (10) I wish we skipped the steakhouse and did Italian two nights. BEST $12 spent for the amount of food, and the quality of the food. Edited Jby k2excursionĪnother vote for Cucina Del Capitano for dinner. Warning: the room steward will throw it out, so put it away when the last person leaves for breakfast & dinner. Tear up some paper that's firm & stick it in the slot. You can use an old gift card or something like that from home. Someone sleeping in may be stumbling around & getting themselves hurt trying to find their card so that they can turn on the lights. Lights can go out on someone showering or using the toilet. This can be a HUGE, ENORMOUS nuisance if you don't all go everywhere together all the time. This is only on Breeze & Magic, and I hate it. About the lights in your room, they have a slot that they say has to have your sail & sign card in it or else the lights go off in 30 seconds. The previous poster brought up great points that I forgot. The 4D theater was $14.95 for the unlimited. What's the cost of the 4D movie theater, just thought it was included.silly me:)? My 16 year old son is going to LOVE cucina de capitano!! Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for. The nighttime entertainment on this ship can be dull, so that was money well spent for me. I went many times, buying the unlimited pass. The "movies" are short & all cartoons, but I enjoyed them. ![]() The 4D theater is pretty fun, if you are young at heart. One other secret is that the waterslides are not restricted to kids only. The back of deck 5 is also really nice, overlooking the wake from down low. ![]() With the one on deck 5, it's part of the lanai, so you don't go through a door to get to it, but it's still the same thing. There are many of those public observation decks that overlook the front of the ship. The deck 5 lanai has many deck chairs set up out there if you want a less crowded spot for laying in the sun or the shade. I didn't try it, but some people like it. There's a hot dog stand (that's rarely open) up around the mini golf area. It is very good, and the perfect place for your embarkation lunch. That Cucina del Capitano place has a FREE lunch, where you pick your pasta, sauce, & as many toppings as you want.
